New Cast Members Announcement!! | Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko 2nd Stage

After confirming the return of some of the characters from season 1 (most importantly, all our lesbian bar ladies!), today they announced new cast members!! Come check them out with me!

Let's start with Riria Kojima, who plays Hiroko's sister, Keiko. Not sure about how her surname is supposed to be read. Possibly Igari. They made it a point to use surnames associated with animals, just like for the other characters. She's a boar! (edit: they have the readings on the official website. It's Igari)

She's always admired and looked up to Hiroko since she was very young. Even more now, seeing her as a successful career woman living in a big city! After being forced to postpone her wedding due to the COVID pandemic, she's finally going to have her long awaited ceremony at the Hawaiians resort!

The little Ema Kurata plays Tsumugi, Keiko's daughter and Hiroko's niece!

Tsumugi ADORES Hiroko, to the point that, seeing how close she is to her beloved Hiroko, she sees Ayaka as a rival (awww). In her comment she says she had the most fun in the scene(s) in which she and Ayaka argue about who likes Hiroko the most!!

Hohomi Nasu plays Misato Ebina, Ayaka's junior!

As her junior, she very often accompanies Ayaka to the various events she organizes and finds it almost puzzling how Ayaka can work so intensely! She gets suddenly assigned to take charge of a certain event and, as such, she heads to the Hawaiians! So now we know why Ayaka goes there! Until now we only knew for sure about Hiroko going for her sister's wedding!

Former Takarazuka star Hiroki Nanami plays Jun!

Jun is a rival of Hiroko and Kyoko, pretty much a legend in the lesbian world. Apparently, any woman who meets her eyes falls in love with her! Back, after many years spent in Los Angeles, she visits THE lesbian bar. And well, Hiroko is going to misinterpret her and Ayaka's relationship!?!?!?

Lastly, though certainly not least in importance, we have Sayuringo; Sayuri Matsumura, who's going to play...possibly Anri, but the name can have other readings, too, so not 100% sure (edit: they have the readings on the official website. It's indeed Anri!).

Anri (?) works for a major advertising company. She meets Hiroko by chance and they hit it off immediately! Defined as a mysterious woman, she's apparently going to shake things up, between Ayaka and Hiroko. So...is she going to make Ayaka jealous, like Jun is going to make Hiroko jealous? We shall see!! In her comment, she says she loves both the first season and the manga! Awwwww!!

Everyone mentions in their comments how great the staff, cast, and the atmosphere on set were, which is quite wonderful! I'm really excited! I was wondering how they were going to create misunderstandings and miscommunications in this second season, and I guess we have our answers in Sayuri and Hiroki's characters!
