Translation of some tidbits posted on Twitter by Atsushi Asada, who wrote the script for Chaser Game W:
Itsuki and Fuyu broke up in the spring of their 4th year at college. Since then, when spring comes, sniffly and on the verge of tears, Fuyu would shout “I hate spring!” every day. What will it be for next spring?
The post Yukka shared on Instagram after the ending of the first season of Chaser Game W:
The broadcast of the 8 episodes of Chaser Game W has come to an end. Thank you so much, to all those who watched it.
Short translation of a questions and answers from a video with Yurika and Yukka:
Q1. Describe your personality with a single word or phrase.
Yurika: turtle (she’s slow slow in everything she does lol)
Yuuka: an optimistic worrier.
Translated parts from an interview to Yurika and Yukka on TheTV:
When her involvement in the show was decided, Yurika was very happy and even proud. It’s a sort of story completely new for her, that touches very interesting themes, so she immediately started looking forward to the shooting.
Some bits translated from a magazine interview to Yurika and Yukka, about Chaser Game W:
The show is set in a game development company and grapples with many different themes, Yurika says, and since Fuyu is married and has a young daughter, it was important for her to also express family love.
While it wasn’t a piece of cake to build the power-harassing side of the character, Fuyu’s lines are very harsh to begin with, so Yurika says it was enough for her to speak them out without restraint to make them sound mean enough.
Yukka has watched Yurika in many shows and admires her amazing ability to change so much depending on her role.
Yukka was also worried that Yurika would be somewhat scary, because that’s the impression left by some of the characters she played. In reality she’s incredibly kind and cute.
Bits translated from an interview to Yuuka Sugai on Nikkan Sports, about Chaser Game W:
Yukka says the drama encompasses a lot of different aspects. There doesn’t seem to be many works with lesbians as leads so it felt like a fresh challenge.
The lesbian supervisor on set allowed Yuuka to understand the incredible struggles that are faced by lesbians in a society, like Japan, so strongly based on the heterosexual framework.
