[English Subs] Mio and Ichika's Nicknames for Each Other + Eda's Picks | From Call Me by No Name's Advance Screening & Talk Event + Comments

Another video excerpt from CallMeNo's advance screening and talk event, with Mio Kudou, Ichika Osaki and Yuuka Eda (the director). In this one, we find out how they call each other, and what name they picked for one another. Eda's choice will make it once again obvious how much she knows both Mio and Ichika!

It's definitely a point of interest for me how Mio wants Ichika to call her with the same sort of nickname Kotoha uses for Megumi, adding the -chi after the name. I love how Ichika starts swinging her legs back and forth when she admits she's only called her Miochi a few times, for now. So childlike! Come on, Ichika, do Mio a favor and start calling her Miochi! Ichika lets he legs swing also when Mio immediately agrees to the fact that she was the mood maker on set. It seems like leg movements are connected to how she feels in several ways (like Eda pointed out here!); in this last case she was a bit fluttered and flustered to be thought of as the mood maker!
I also adored Mio's choice of words when she told Ichika she thought she'd make her a princess!! How cute was that?
On the other hand, the nickname Ichika picked for Mio was indeed poorly constructed, as unless she explained the meaning she wanted to convey, it would just look like she's saying the very opposite of what she actually meant (so that Mio's core is anything but steady 🤭).
Another little thing I really liked is Ichika's gesture when Mio apologizes for crying all the time. There was no need for that, the apology itself was not too serious at all, and yet she felt the need to reassure that it was nothing to apologize for. I love this sort of tiny expressions of care and kindness!
It's also a real pleasure to listen to Eda, every time. It's so clear how deeply she's gotten to know these two young women and it makes so much sense...To be such a good director one would have to be a good observer, too. And she is.
What else? Well, just that, no matter how many times I watch these clips, the way Ichika and Mio look at each other and smile at each other is such a joy to watch. I hope it's the same for you all, too!!
